Description- Grade 5 foxnuts are medium‑large makhana in the 16–20 mm range (≈ 5 Suta), widely considered the ideal “all‑rounder” grade for international snack brands. They offer a more premium look and mouthfeel than standard grades while still giving good yield per kilogram, making them perfect for flavoured, roasted and coated SKUs in supermarkets and health‑food channels.
Like all high‑quality makhana, Grade 5 delivers about 347 kcal, ~9–10 g protein, ~14–15 g fibre and very low fat per 100 g, along with meaningful levels of calcium, magnesium and potassium that support heart and bone health. The combination of a low glycaemic index, antioxidant flavonoids such as kaempferol, and gluten‑free profile positions this grade strongly for keto‑friendly, diabetic‑friendly and weight‑management product lines.
