Description- 

Byadagi chilli is India’s classic low‑heat, high‑colour variety, grown mainly around the Byadgi–Haveri–Davanagere belt of Karnataka. It is prized globally for its deep crimson colour with ASTA values often 80–130 and in premium lots up to 150–200, while maintaining a mild pungency of about 6,000–15,000 SHU. This profile makes it ideal when buyers need rich red pigment without excessive heat, such as paprika‑style powders, colour‑driven masalas, and oleoresin extraction.​

Byadagi pods are long (around 12–15 cm), thin, fully wrinkled and relatively low in seeds, with thin skin and high extractable colour, earning it the trade name “Natural Color King.” The variety is widely used by food processors, snack and instant‑food brands, and oleoresin manufacturers, and also finds applications in natural cosmetic pigments and chilli oil products

Description- Guntur Sannam 334 (LCA‑334), traded globally as S4 / S10, is one of India’s most commercially important red chilli varieties, known for its balanced medium pungency of about 18,000–22,000 SHU and strong red colour around 40–50 ASTA. This makes it a workhorse chilli for chilli powder mills, curry and seasoning manufacturers, pickles, sauces and oleoresin extraction, where both heat and natural colour are required in a single raw material.​

The pods are small to medium (about 8–10 cm), thin‑skinned, light to bright red with relatively higher seed content, which helps processors achieve good grind yield and consistent flavour. Description- Teja S17 is one of India’s most sought‑after extreme‑heat red chilli varieties, cultivated mainly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana’s Khammam, Warangal and Karimnagar belts. It delivers very high pungency of about 85,000–110,000 SHU (often 70,000–100,000+ SHU in commercial specs) with strong red colour around 60–80 ASTA, making it a top choice for hot sauces, high‑heat spice blends, snack seasonings and capsaicin/oleoresin extraction.​

The pods are small, pointed, bright red (“bird’s beak” type), about 6–9 cm long with relatively thick skin, concentrating capsaicin and providing intense flavour even in small dosages.
